  • Use the 50/70 rule. This rule simply means that you should maintain eye contact for 50 percent of the time while speaking.
  • Maintain for 4-5 seconds. This rule tells you to maintain or hold your eye contact at least for 4-5 seconds. By this, it means you must spend at least 4-5 seconds while maintaining eye contact.
  • Practice. This is the most important of all the rules – Practice! If you must build your eye contact skill, you must make sure you practice until you become confident.
  1. Tell Stories and engage your audience: There is no doubt that everyone loves great story; so, if you are interested in being a good public speaker - you must be able to tell a great story.
